High Tech Enemies
Published in Paperback by Gold Rush Games (01 January, 1992)
Average review score:

Sean Fannon is a creative genius, not!I can't stop talking about Sean's High-Tech Enemies. Having had the pleasure of being throughly trounced by several of Sean's evil creations, I can safely say that I hate him and the evil NPC's he created. May the Weasle, Dr. Destroyer, and Master Control die horrible deaths. To ensure that Mr. Fannon doesn't create more of these insidious characters that give me irratble bowl syndrome he should be scheduled for a labotomy.

Solid, practical advice for new entrepreneurs going online.A no hype, tell it the way it is homebased business book. Especially good was the section on starting a micro-business on the Internet. Lots of do-it-yourself information to keep costs low. The cybermarketing success secrets alone are worth the price of the book. Very helpful for first time in the business world entrepreneur. Good value, in my opinion.

Home Cook's Recipe Reference: Make Your Own Index to All Your Favorite Recipes
Published in Ring-bound by Honey Creek Pub (January, 1992)
Average review score:

Excellent method to keep track of recipes! The Home Cook's Recipe Reference is not a recipe book. It is a system to "make your own index" to all your favorite recipes where-ever they are located. To use the system, you complete a simple Recipe Index Form with the name of the recipe and the cookbook, magazine issue, or other location of your the recipe you want to find again. There is also room to make a quick list of the main ingredients and any comments about the recipe. You then remove the form from the binder rings and place it back in the binder under the appropriate alphatetical index tab.
The binder is very attractive with a copy of an oil painting of irises on the front. It wipes clean and will stand up to use in a busy kitchen.
The binder contains 180 Recipe Index Forms. The system can be easily expanded by adding another binder to create a set.
The Home Cook's Recipe Reference is a nice size to hold while you relax in your comfy chair as you go through some of your favorite recipe books and note the recipes that you don't want to loose track of.
Great gift for people who love to collect cookbooks!

Home in Alfalfa
Published in Hardcover by Mosaic Press (March, 1999)
Average review score:

Cook at Home with StoriesStoryteller Hugh Cook is at home writing stories with humor, empathy and a sense of extraordinary grace in the ordinary. He breathes life into small-town Dutch Reformed Canadian characters so well that you think you might like to put down the book and travel to the town of Alfalfa, but putting down the book is not that easy. It sticks to your fingers like marshmallows on a hot night around the campfire. Besides that, Alfalfa is not a town you'd find on a roadmap, but you will recognize the coffeehouse (center of town, center of information) and the town churches (centers of controversy and accidental holy moments). Throughout the book you may find yourself affirming one wife's viewpoint and then having to change your mind when you hear her husband's side of the story. You might shake your head ruefully or bust a gut laughing or sometimes--as I did throughout one chapter late in the book--you will cry and keep wiping away tears because you want to keep reading. Just because it's true. It doesn't cheat; it stays honest. How novel.

Hometown Flavor: A Cook's Tour of Wisconsin's Butcher Shops, Bakeries, Cheese Factories, Other Specialty Markets

Fascinating, informative, a true Wisconsin classic!Terese Allen is one of Wisconsin's finest cookbook authors who draws upon her years of collecting Wisconsin ethnic food traditions, teaching cooking classes, and working as a professional chef, caterer and restaurant manager to produce truly "user friendly" cookbooks showcasing some of the finest dining Wisconsin has to offer. Hometown Flavor is her newest cookbook and continues to document her considerable culinary expertise. From Tomato Wild Rice Soup with Italian Cheese, Smoked Fish & Fettucine with Fresh Vegetables, and Lamb, Potato & Asparagus Stew, to Spareribs with Onions, Apples & Maple Syrup, Door County Barbecue Sauce, and Cactus Salad Tostados, Hometown Flavor offers taste-please, appetite satisfying fare. But the thing that truly sets this wonderfully unique, enthusiastically recommended contribution to the kitchen cookbook collection apart from all others is her fascinating and informative tour of Wisconsin's cheese factories, butcher shops, bakeries, and other specialty markets.

How Iowa Cooks
Published in Paperback by Pelican Pub Co (May, 1983)
Average review score:

Simple (and *delectable*) down home cookingThis is a small, spiral-bound cookbook lacking the glitz of more modern counterparts. However, the recipes can unquestionably stand on their own. The apricot horns and St. Nicholas Cookies, alone, are well worth the cost of the book.
